Brian M Dick

Profile: Brian M. Dick

Brian has been in the Life Assurance business since 1972, where he worked with Standard Life in "the old days". The job he held in the Head Office in St. Andrew's Square allowed him to have easy access to the bus station to travel to and from his home in Roslin. Remaining with the same company, he moved over to the sales side of the business in 1979, in Glasgow.

After seven years, he left the cosiness of a large company to work on the retail side of things with Scott House Financial Planning, in South Frederick Street, Glasgow. After an excellent grounding of that side of the business with Tom McAllister and the late David Robb, Brian was "head hunted" by BMA Services, dealing with members of the medical profession. Having been promoted to branch manager of the Glasgow and Belfast Offices, Brian chose to move, missing the bit of the job he enjoyed best, dealing directly with clients. Having three different companies offering him position, he opted to work with Les Shields, a medium sized Glasgow IFA.

It was only a matter of time before Brian wanted to have his own company and be responsible for the shape of how he would run his own business. Brian M Dick Financial Planning was born as a business in May, 1995. The rest is not quite history. Brian has strived to improve all aspects of his business from investment research to the presentation of reports and documentation to clients. The most recent innovation is the website. There are always ongoing changes to the way Brian's business is done and feedback is encouraged from all clients to see if the improvements are meaningful and helpful.
