In today's fast moving world, it is often difficult to find the time to look to the future. Too often, we are concerned about the now to even think about five years ahead, never mind retirement.
It is true to say that, today is a wonderful gift and that's why it is called the present. But, we would be foolhardy if we did not think about tomorrow.
No doubt when we plan a holiday, thought is given to make sure that it can be paid for and that we have sufficient spending money. When we step into our cars, we know they are insured, just in case some fool drives into us. We also insure our homes, in case of fire or burglary.
Does it make sense to consider planning our financial future? I think so. A calm measured approach has to be taken when considering the financial future and we have to be aware of the unexpected happening. It is trying to make provision to cover the unexpected that makes financial planning work.
